Celebrate National Coffee Day with Free Coffee

A whole day dedicated to the celebration of our favorite roasted bean brew? With free coffee?

Yes, please!

What could be better for java aficionados than indulging in free coffee for National Coffee Day?

At Trek Healthcare Staffing, we encourage our nurses to enjoy all the wonderful attributes coffee has to offer. Sure, it’s good for us, improving our mental health and fighting off unpleasant diseases such as Parkinson’s and type 2 diabetes, but we can’t get enough of the aromatic sensory experience and the great conversations stimulated when we gather with coworkers and friends at our favorite coffee shops.

If you’ve never embraced coffee culture, what better time could there be than National Coffee Day, which is coming up on September 29th. Grab a coworker and head to the coffee shop of your choice. We’ll see you there!

Make National Coffee Day Memorable

Can’t find a convenient time to meet your coworkers at a coffee shop? Why not be the hero of the day and surprise them with java at work? A coffee break is a great way to bring the team together and set the stage for a great day for all.

Did you know?

As you’re enjoying National Coffee Day, show off your knowledge of the brew with these coffee fun facts.

  1. Do you remember learning about the Boston Tea Party in American History class? Well, that protest of King George’s tax on the colonist’s beloved tea also sparked a boycott. Naturally, the colonists had to find an alternative beverage to replace tea, and our love affair with coffee was born.
  1. While Americans no doubt love their coffee (We consume 11 pounds of coffee per person annually.) our consumption pales in comparison to the serious coffee drinkers of Finland, who enjoy 27.5 pounds of coffee per person every year.
  1. Where do most Americans turn to get their caffeine buzz? Soda? Tea? Nope! 75% of the caffeine we enjoy comes from coffee. That amounts to 146 billion cups of coffee consumed each year.
  2. National Coffee Day did not begin in the United States. Japan was the first nation to hail the wonders of this aromatic beverage in 1983. Other nations soon followed, including Costa Rica, Ireland, and Brazil. The United States held its first celebration in 2005.
  1. Maxwell House Coffee can thank former president Theodore Roosevelt for the highly marketable slogan, “Good to the last drop.” He was a passionate java devotee and proud of it.

With a rich history and so many fantastic reasons to celebrate National Coffee Day (as if you needed an excuse!), we hope you’ll get out and enjoy a cup of coffee, or two, or three… on September 29. At Trek Healthcare Staffing, we certainly will!
